The Finance Council is a consultative body of lay persons established to advise the Pastor in matters pertaining to the financial affairs of the parish. Members are appointed by the Pastor and one member serves as a liaison to the Parish Council. The Finance Council meets at least three times a year. Some of the Finance Council’s functions are:
To prepare an annual budget.
To review as needed the implementation of the archdiocesan bookkeeping and accounting system.
To prepare and publish an Annual Financial Report to the parish.
To develop a plan for paying and/or financing necessary repairs, renovations and purchase equipment.
To develop a plan for payment of any parish debt.
To coordinate all fundraising programs.
To safeguard the assets of the parish from loss or damage.
To implement all diocesan policies relative to financial matters.
